While President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu have developed a close working relationship, the U.S.-Israel alliance is deeper than any personal connection between a president and a prime minister and it will endure no matter who prevails in the Israeli election. To Israelis, the pain of October 7 is real, raw, and deeply personal. We all have stories of rescue and redemption, but also all too many stories of loss. Thank you to CNN’s Dana Bash for having me on to discuss this week’s sad anniversary.

Today is the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks. As we mark this solemn occasion, I wanted to focus on the heroes of that day and of the three years since, and on what we can all learn from their heroism.
